Nourishment Notes

This dish is an ode to the feminine fire that fuels both reproduction and creativity. Sweet potatoes are a top-tier sacral food—rich in beta-carotene and stored in our belly fat, where so much hormonal communication takes place.

I like this dish because it feels sensual and grounding at the same time. The harissa brings heat, the goat cheese brings comfort, and the mint reminds your body to exhale. It’s easy to digest and deeply supportive of your reproductive center—especially when paired with warm conversation or reflective rest.

Food is medicine for your intuitive body. This one speaks directly to your second chakra—the seat of pleasure, flow, and feminine knowing.

Serves: 4 friends as a side

Time: 35 minutes

Ingredients

• Local & Organic Orange Sweet Potatoes – 2 large, chopped into ½-inch chunks
• Cooking Fat – 2 tbsp (EVOO, ghee, tallow, or unrefined coconut oil)
• Harissa Powder – 1½ tbsp
• Harissa Paste – 1 tbsp
• Sea Salt – light sprinkle
• Fresh Mint – 1 small handful, chopped
• Local Goat Cheese – ½ cup, crumbled

Method

Preheat your oven to 375°F. Start by slicing your potatoes and spread them out on a baking sheet. Drizzle with your choice of cooking fat and season generously with salt and harissa powder. Using your hands, gently toss the potatoes to ensure they're evenly coated with the oil and spices. Once well mixed, place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for about 15 minutes, flip, and put back in the oven for another 15 minutes. After baking, remove the potatoes from the oven and crumble Marissa paste and goat cheese over them. Finish by adding fresh mint leaves on top.
