Nourishment Notes

In recent years, movements within holistic and spiritual disciplines have reawakened to the medicinal magic of cacao, honoring its legacy as a planta de poder—a “plant of power.” This whip features cacao powder, derived from the seeds of the Theobroma cacao tree. It’s decadent and full of symbolic depth.

I’ve grown to love cacao deeply and have become passionate about preserving the ancient wisdom behind it—and the few remaining Cacao Temples. Cacao has helped me redefine chocolate—not as candy, but as ceremony; an ancient, sacred plant.

A cacao temple is a space—physical or energetic—where this plant is consumed with reverence. Through meditation, silence, or prayer, it becomes a tool for softening the heart and awakening the soul. This ritual traces back to the Maya and Aztec cultures, where cacao was offered in ceremony, considered sacred, and never taken lightly.

Cook Time: 8 minutes
Serves: 5 friends

Ingredients

Local Pasture Raised Heavy Cream – 1 pint

Organic Berry of Choice – 1 large container (optional)

Ceremonial-Grade Cacao – 1 tbsp

Organic Powdered Sugar – 1 tbsp

Method

Pour the heavy cream into a large mixing bowl and begin whipping it with an electric mixer on low speed. As the cream begins to thicken, gradually increase the speed to high. Once it’s airy but not yet stiff, add the cacao powder and powdered sugar. Continue mixing until soft peaks form and the whipped cream holds its shape. In small serving bowls, divide the fresh berries, then top each with a generous spoonful of the whipped chocolate cream. Serve immediately for best texture and taste.
